How can we help you?
Our peristaltic pumps are a better solution compared to screw pumps for feeding emulsions to the dissolvers and to the finishing tanks. When a screw pump is run dry, the mechanical sealing, stator and rotor assembly often will be damaged. The binders in the latex emulsions become very hard if they are in contact with air.
As the mechanical seal wears, it starts to leak and create maintenance and environmental problems to the process. With our peristaltic pumps, only the hose is in contact with the emulsion. This isolates the pumped medium from the air.
Seal-less ALH pumps will not get damaged even if they run dry for longer periods of time. In the ALH hose pumps, the cylindrical rotor rotates along the hose and the process medium gets pushed forward through the hose. At the same time, the hose behind the compression point reverts to its original shape, creating a suction effect at the pump inlet port. As a result, the hose bore gets filled with the medium. No backward flow can occur as the hose is squeezed tight by the shoes.
Our peristaltic pumps do not mix or shear the substance being pumped. Albin Pumps are ideal for handling latex.
